How many classes do I need before I know how to dance?
This really depends on how fast you are able to learn what the teacher is teaching you. Our instructors where possible try to adjust to your tempo. Factors to consider are your partner, group size, complexity of the dance lesson. It also depends on your own expectations. For example: learning how to play the keys on a piano doesn’t make you a pianist. The rhetorical question would be: “what kind of a pianist would you like to be?”
Do I need to bring a partner?
This is not a requirement, but since this is a dance for couples, for the ladies it is recommended to invite a male partner. If you can’t find one no worries we always have male volunteers around.
Do I need to be dressed specifically?
Wearing something comfortable is recommended
If you have mastered the basics of salsa and you want to learn more… The intermediate level will teach you turn patterns, turns, musical interpretation, space awareness, social dance ethics and more. Salsa is one of the worlds most popular social dancing styles. As an intermediate you will further broaden your skill set, be able to refine and define your own style.
- Turn Patterns
- Shining Steps
- Musical Interpretation
- Space Awareness
- Social Dance Ethics
- And more
How do I know if I am ready for this Intermediate level?
Your instructor will make an assessment of your current basic dance skill. If you have taken classes in the past or have some form of certification, your instructor may still advise you to take a few beginners classes, prior to entering the intermediate level.”
How do I choose an Instructor?
You really don’t have to be picky, all our instructors are professionals with over 10-40 years of experience, combined that’s 150 years of dance and teaching experience!!! Some of our teachers are internationally acknowledged and world champions…
Can I take more than one class a week?
Sure you can… we have various Combo Deals where you can dance and choose as many flavors as you like.
This level is for the intermediate dancer who wants to learn more complicated dance combinations and further refine his or her dance skills. Our top instructors will endlessly challenge you to keep improving yourself as a skilled dancer.
- Advance Partnering Combinations
- Advance Lady- and MenStyling
Can I apply for this class if I have been dancing for 2 or more years?
The amount of years is not an indication of your technical dance ability which you will need to learn complicated partnering Combinations. You may be able to follow during the class, but if you don’t have a solid understanding of for example: musical interpretation, you will not be dancing ‘in-sync’ with the music.”
I have an advanced certification from another dance school is that enough to enter this class?
Because certifications in fact only state your participation to a dancing level from a particular dance school, unfortunately your certification will not automatically grand you a free pass. Your current level will be assessed by your Instructor prior to the lesson or class you are planning to take.
